In 1932, Ray G. Syverson would walk onto jobsites and offer his tile installation services to drum up business. By the mid-40s, the company was the largest tile contractor between Minneapolis and Omaha. Ray Jr. became president in 1976. 90 years later, Syverson Tile & Stone has evolved into one of the largest tile distributors in the region. Today, Ray’s grandsons Steve and Dave, continue the tradition of good craftsmanship and dedicated service.  In 2004 the company changed it’s name from Syverson Tile to Syverson Tile and Stone.

The business has grown with locations now in Fargo, ND, Rapid City, SD, and Billings, MT.  The company provides a full line of tile products, setting materials, and the Sioux Falls location fabricates and installs natural and engineered stone countertop materials.  Syverson Tile & Stone is wholesale to the trade servicing retail dealer stores in all four locations. Syverson showrooms are open to the general public to view available products. All locations have both displays and installation ideas with tile products installed on showroom floors and walls. The products displayed range from porcelain and glass to granite, travertine, limestone, slate and marble.  Along with providing products to their customers, the company is dedicated to bringing training opportunities to the local communities in order to be able to continue the development of the tile industry in a manner that is professional and current with all new products and methods. Steve and Dave feel that it is important to provide continuing education to assist in building a better reputation for tile and stone products as an industry. 

The Sioux Falls location continues to operate a division for commercial/residential tile installation. Working through established contractors, the division continues the tradition of craftsmanship established so long ago. Tile installation is not available through the Billings, Fargo or Rapid City locations.
